Battery storage ownership among survey participants with solar PV has remained consistent in the last year (21%, 23% in 2024). The main motivators to purchase battery storage are to reduce electricity use from the grid (52%), to reduce electricity bills (49%), and for blackout protection (43%).

Among all survey participants, intention to purchase battery storage at some point in the future has remained steady (44%, 45% in 2024). However, there has been an increase in those not intending to purchase battery storage (34%, up from 26% in 2024). Most households expect to spend over $10K for a battery storage system.

Awareness of community batteries remains consistent (37%, 39% in 2024), along with interest in community batteries remains (37%, 38% in 2024). Those aged 18 to 34 and 35 to 54 show the most interest in community batteries (43% and 40% high interest, respectively).
