Queensland Household Energy Survey 2024

Electrical sentiment Electricity Sentiment

The majority of Queensland households believe their energy supplier provides a reliable and secure electricity supply and trust them to do the right thing for customers. This year, more respondents agree that energy suppliers are working to make electricity more affordable than in 2023 (38%, up from 35% last year).

There has been no change in the balance between cost and reliability, with almost three-quarters (73%) considering this to be about right (75% last year).

More participants experienced a recent outage this year, with over half (56%) losing supply at least once in the last six months. Of those who experienced an outage, most were satisfied with the time it took to restore electricity to their home (56% satisfied rated 7-10), but under half were satisfied with the communication from suppliers during the outage (42%).
