This year, Queensland households exhibit a more positive sentiment toward key reputation metrics around trust and reliability. Respondents are now more likely to believe that their energy suppliers provide a reliable (76%, up from 71% in 2024) and secure electricity supply (61%, up from 59% in 2024). They are also more likely to trust suppliers to do the right things for customers, if problems arise (62%, up from 59% in 2024).

There has been no change in the balance between cost and reliability, with around three-quarters (75%) still considering this to be about right (73% in 2024).

The proportion of participants experiencing outages has increased significantly to 62% following the Tropical Cyclone Alfred and other events this year, up from 56% in 2024. Despite this satisfaction with the time taken to restore electricity to customers’ homes has increased (60% up from 56% in 2024), with no notable change in customers’ satisfaction with communication from Ergon/Energex during the outage (44%, up from 42% in 2024).
