Survey participants who indicated they had an Electric vehicle (EV)/hybrid has remained steady this year (10%, same as in 2024). There are also similar levels of interest in EVs among people in the market for a car/vehicle, with 58% saying they would consider an EV in the future (59% in 2024).

Survey participants in South-East Queensland have the highest incidence of EV ownership in the state (12%), and ownership is also higher among 18-34 year olds (14%), and those with a high household income ($151k or more) (19%).

This year, there has been a notable shift towards controlling EV charging times by adjusting the EV settings (22%, up from 14% in 2024), with HEMS control still being popular (19%, 20% in 2024). In line with this, there has also been an increase in EV users conducting their own research to find the right charging arrangement (46%, up from 40% in 2024). Most EV owners in the survey are open to having their EV charging managed by a third party (66%).
