Queensland households’ views on key reputation measures, including trust and security, remained stable. Respondents are now more likely to believe that their energy suppliers are working to make electricity more affordable (41%, vs 36% in 2025). Sentiment that energy suppliers provide a reliable energy supply has softened (73% rated 7-10, vs 76% in 2025).

The proportion who believes the balance between cost and reliability is about right has softened (71%, vs 75% in 2025), with a slight increase in the proportion willing to accept poorer reliability to reduce their bill (16%, vs 13% in 2025), although this is still a small proportion of households.

Fewer households highlighted that they experienced a power outage in the 6 months prior to completing the survey (53%, vs 62% in 2025). The result this year is stable after a higher number of outages were experienced in 2025 due to impacts of extreme weather and natural disasters. Satisfaction with communication from Ergon/Energex during experienced outages has been steadily increasing year-on-year (46% rating their experience 7-10, vs 38% in 2022).
